Overview:
An established environmental consultancy is seeking a Group Manager or Senior Engineer with strong expertise in asbestos and industrial hygiene to lead a specialist team. This is a strategic hire for a growing business with a solid reputation in environmental health and safety. The role involves team leadership, project oversight, and client interaction, with a strong focus on asbestos services and regulatory compliance.
Key Responsibilities:

Lead a technical group delivering asbestos consulting and industrial hygiene services.

Oversee asbestos inspections, project design, air monitoring, and abatement oversight.

Ensure project quality, compliance, and delivery on time and budget.

Mentor junior staff and contribute to team development.

Support client relationships and help identify growth opportunities.
Requirements:

Strong technical background in asbestos consulting and industrial hygiene.

Relevant degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field.

Professional certifications or licenses in asbestos disciplines (e.g., Project Designer, Inspector, Management Planner), with knowledge of federal and state regulations.

Proven experience managing projects and/or teams in a consulting or field-based environment.

Strong communication, organizational, and leadership skills.
Desirable:

CIH or other advanced certifications

Experience with broader hazardous materials management (e.g., lead, mold)

Business development or client-facing experience
