Position Summary:
The Structural Engineer III will play a pivotal role in designing and rehabilitating bridge structures, managing projects from concept through construction. This position involves structural analysis, detailed design, and client interaction, requiring technical expertise and a commitment to excellence in project delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct or supervise structural analyses, design, and detailing of bridges.
- Develop detailed rehabilitation designs for existing structures.
- Prepare or oversee the preparation of contract plans and technical documentation.
- Perform site visits to collect data and oversee project progress.
- Write and review reports, specifications, and other project-related correspondence.
- Respond to contractor submittals, including working drawings and RFIs.
- Collaborate with clients and contractors to ensure project objectives are met.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering with a focus on structural engineering.
- PE License in NY, NJ, and/or PA, or eligibility to obtain licensure within six months.
- Strong ability to quickly learn company policies, procedures, and relevant software.
- Familiarity with client standards and procedures, particularly those relevant to bridge projects.
Preferred Skills:
- Proficiency in MicroStation and/or AutoCAD.
- Knowledge of NJDOT, PennDOT, or NY agency standards is highly desirable.
- Master’s degree in structural engineering is a plus.
- Experience in the following areas is advantageous:
- Steel and concrete repairs/rehabilitations.
- Structural analysis, design, and detailing.
- Bridge inspection and staged construction design.
- Finite element analysis.
