About the Role

My client, a leading international company in the construction materials sector, is looking for a Country Head – France to lead and grow their operations in the French market.

This is a senior commercial leadership role, with responsibility for sales performance, building a high-performing sales team, and expanding the distribution network to strengthen market presence in France.

The ideal candidate is a dynamic, results-driven leader with solid experience in the construction or building materials sector, capable of combining strategic vision with hands-on execution.

Key Responsibilities

  • Establish and lead the French business entity, ensuring compliance and operational readiness.
  • Develop and execute commercial strategies to achieve ambitious sales and profitability targets.
  • Recruit, train, and lead a motivated sales team focused on performance, accountability, and collaboration.
  • Build and manage distributor relationships to maximize market coverage and customer satisfaction.
  • Define and monitor KPIs, budgets, and sales forecasts aligned with regional objectives.
  • Identify growth opportunities, market trends, and competitive dynamics in France.
  • Implement pricing and promotional strategies in coordination with regional marketing.
  • Represent the company at trade shows, customer events, and industry forums.
  • Ensure continuous development of team capabilities and alignment with corporate values.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Minimum 7 years of experience in sales leadership roles within the construction or building materials sector; experience in tiles or surface installation products is a strong plus.
  • Excellent knowledge of distribution channels and construction market dynamics in France.
  • Proven track record in leading teams and developing new markets.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Fluent in French and English (spoken and written); knowledge of Italian is a plus.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and decision-making abilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint).

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, Engineering, or a related field preferred.
  • At least 7 years of professional experience in a comparable role.

Travel Requirements

  • Up to 70% travel across France and Europe.
