We are seeking a dedicated Specialist Speech and Language Therapist to join the Children and Family Community Services team in the Channel Islands. Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive assessments to identify speech, language, and communication needs, including dysphagia.
  • Develop and implement tailored intervention plans, working collaboratively with families, educators, and healthcare professionals.
  • Lead service innovations for children with complex needs, focusing on AAC and literacy development.
  • Provide specialist training to schools and other settings, supporting curriculum planning.
  • Supervise and mentor junior therapists and assistants, fostering a culture of growth and excellence.
  • Liaise with external services, including Southampton Hospital and the ACE Centre, ensuring a holistic approach to care.

About You:

  • Qualifications: Degree or postgraduate qualification in Speech and Language Therapy, with HCPC registration.
  • Expertise: Proven skills in paediatric dysphagia, AAC, and literacy development.
  • Experience: Minimum of four years post-qualification, with a strong track record in paediatric therapy.
  • Skills: Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organisational abilities.
