Our client in Boston is in need of a Principal Civil Engineer, to lead multimodal transportation projects that create safer, more sustainable communities. Responsibilities
- Lead Multimodal Projects: Manage and deliver sustainable transportation projects, including Complete Streets, roadway reconstructions, and trail designs, ensuring high-quality results.
- Mentor and Manage Teams: Guide interdisciplinary teams through design, development, permitting, and construction phases while fostering professional growth.
- Design Expertise: Oversee the production of construction documents, geometric designs, drainage systems, 3D modeling, and accessible public spaces.
- Client and Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with clients, public agencies, and multidisciplinary partners to drive project success and innovative solutions.
- Business Development: Support project pursuits, proposal development, and quality initiatives to grow the firm’s presence and impact in the Northeast region.
What you need:
- Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in MA, with the ability to obtain licensure in other Northeast states preferred.
- 15+ years in civil engineering with expertise in roadway/corridor design, drainage, 3D modeling, and construction document preparation.
- Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary teams, manage complex projects, and mentor junior staff.
- Expertise in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and/or MicroStation, with experience in stormwater design tools like HydroCAD or HydroFlow a plus.
- Commitment to creating sustainable, accessible designs for pedestrians, cyclists, transit users, and motorists.
- Experience preparing proposals, managing scopes/fees, and engaging in business development.
- Familiarity with NACTO, MUTCD, and state/local permitting processes.
