Move Beyond Pure R&D – Shape How Innovation Investments Are Decided
This opportunity is ideal for someone currently working in R&D, Development, or Regulatory functions who has naturally gravitated towards numbers, processes, and decision-making, and wants to influence innovation at a portfolio level.
A science-driven organisation with a complex R&D pipeline is strengthening how projects are evaluated, prioritised, and governed, without slowing innovation.
You will support a large community of project leaders, helping them think more critically about costs, risks, and value creation. You are not expected to be a pure finance specialist, but you must be financially literate, structured, and confident with data.
Your Impact
- Support R&D and regulatory project leaders with budgets and forecasts
- Improve financial transparency and business case robustness
- Own and optimise the R&D project and portfolio management system
- Strengthen governance while preserving agility
- Act as an advisor and sparring partner, not a gatekeeper
- Enable better, data-driven investment decisions
Your Background
- Experience in R&D, Development, Regulatory, or technical project roles
- Strong interest in financial logic and portfolio thinking
- Known for bringing structure, realism, and clarity
- Comfortable challenging peers in a constructive way
- Experience in a scientific or innovation-led environment
Why This Role
- Rare bridge role between science and finance
- High-trust, collaborative culture with long-tenured employees
- Opportunity to shape a new function and make a visible impact
- Exposure to senior leadership and strategic decisions
- Flexible hybrid working model
