Senior EMEA Regulatory Affairs Manager – Active Substances

Home-based within the EU – Occasional travel required

Are you ready to take the lead in driving regulatory strategy for complex active substance portfolios within a growing, innovative crop protection company? This is a rare opportunity to join a financially strong, expanding business that continues to thrive while many in the sector are consolidating or downsizing.

As Senior EMEA Regulatory Affairs Manager, you will play a central role in shaping and executing regulatory strategies for active substances under EU Regulation (EC) No 1107/2009. This role offers the chance to influence key decisions, work cross-functionally across Europe, and contribute to the company’s long-term success as part of a highly respected regulatory leadership team.

The Company

Our client is a global crop protection organisation with a strong and stable foundation, known for its entrepreneurial spirit, collaborative culture, and long-term commitment to sustainable agriculture. Despite industry challenges, they have continued to grow their presence across Europe through smart investment, efficient operations, and a people-focused approach.

Employees describe the environment as friendly, open, and genuinely supportive – a place where expertise is valued, contributions are recognised, and people enjoy working together toward shared goals. With over two decades of successful remote collaboration, this is a company that knows how to keep its teams connected, engaged, and motivated, regardless of distance.

The Role

  • Lead regulatory strategies for complex active substance dossiers across the EMEA region in accordance with Regulation (EC) No 1107/2009.
  • Manage submissions, renewals, and defence activities for existing active substances, coordinating with internal experts and external consultants.
  • Support product registration teams to ensure alignment between active substance and product-level regulatory activities.
  • Serve as the main point of contact for authorities, industry associations, and internal stakeholders regarding active substance matters.
  • Contribute to advocacy and regulatory intelligence efforts, identifying opportunities and risks within the evolving EU regulatory landscape.
  • Mentor and support colleagues, contributing to knowledge sharing and professional development across the team.

Your Profile

  • Extensive experience in regulatory affairs within the crop protection industry, including hands-on responsibility for active substance dossiers under EU Regulation 1107/2009.
  • Strong understanding of regulatory frameworks, risk assessment, and data requirements for active substances.
  • A scientific background in toxicology, environmental fate, ecotoxicology, or chemistry would be highly advantageous.
  • Proven ability to manage complex projects, build relationships with regulatory authorities, and navigate multi-stakeholder environments.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively in an international, cross-functional setting.

Why Join?

This is a rare opportunity to step into a senior, visible role within a company that values expertise, encourages initiative, and offers the freedom to make a tangible impact. You’ll be part of a stable yet growing business with a clear vision for the future – one that continues to invest in its people, its science, and its long-term success.
