Our client-an established and respected consultancy offering scientific and regulatory services to global clients in the crop protection and chemical sectors-is seeking a Senior Residues Expert. This is a strategic role for a senior-level scientist or consultant ready to become the in-house subject matter expert and a trusted advisor to major industry stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the company’s subject matter expert for pesticide residues and dietary safety within plant protection product regulation.
- Provide strategic counsel to clients and internal colleagues on regulatory residue requirements in line with EU Regulation (EC) No 1107/2009 and associated guidance.
- Oversee residue studies performed by CROs, covering both field trials and analytical phases, ensuring data quality and regulatory compliance.
- Prepare and manage residue dossier sections, including:
- Data gap analyses
- Registration/authorization reports
- MRL and import tolerance applications
- Evaluate MRL compliance, dietary exposure, and associated consumer safety risks.
- Input residue data into IUCLID and conduct relevant literature searches using tools like Endnote.
- Participate in pre-submission meetings with authorities and attend relevant industry events or conferences.
Who We’re Looking For
- 10+ years of experience in regulatory affairs with a strong focus on residues (preferably within a consultancy or CRO environment).
- Sound understanding of EU pesticide regulation, particularly the regulatory frameworks around residues and dietary risk.
- Experience managing CROs and interpreting residue study results.
- Skilled in dossier preparation and familiar with IUCLID and modern literature tools.
- Strong communication skills and a proactive, collaborative mindset.
- Passion for mentoring-this role includes supporting the development of a junior colleague.
