Traffic Design and ITS Engineer

Key Responsibilities:

As an integral part of a multidisciplinary team, you will:

  • Conduct traffic studies, feasibility assessments, and develop access and circulation plans.
  • Design traffic elements for roadway improvements, including signals, signage, and temporary traffic control.
  • Prepare design sketches, drawings, and specifications using CADD software.
  • Collaborate with the design team and oversee the work of junior engineers.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Transportation Engineering.
  • 5-10 years of progressive experience in traffic engineering, including:
    • Familiarity with NY/NJ transportation agency standards such as PANYNJ.
    • Proficiency with traffic engineering software like GuideSign, HCS, AutoTurn, SYNCHRO, VISSIM, and SimTraffic.
    • Experience in designing traffic elements, including Maintenance and Protection of Traffic (MPT), safety countermeasures, and regulatory and guide signage.
    • Understanding of MUTCD guidelines.
  • NY or NJ PE and PTOE licensure is preferred.
