Job Title: Traffic Engineer
Location: Virginia
Our specialized transportation engineering consultancy, based in Virginia, is seeking a Traffic Engineer with at least 3 years of experience to join our team. We focus on delivering tailored solutions for traffic and transportation systems in local and regional markets, offering expert services to public and private sector clients. Responsibilities:
- Perform traffic engineering tasks related to transportation infrastructure projects.
- Conduct traffic studies, capacity analysis, and traffic signal design.
- Assist in designing traffic control devices, pavement markings, and signage.
- Prepare traffic impact analyses, safety assessments, and recommend improvements.
- Ensure projects adhere to state, local, and federal guidelines and regulations.
- Perform site visits and field inspections as needed to gather data and ensure project quality.
- Assist in the preparation of project plans, specifications, and estimates.
- Collaborate with project managers on schedules, budgets, and deliverables.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in traffic engineering or transportation projects.
- Proficiency with traffic engineering software such as Synchro, HCS, or VISSIM.
- Familiarity with Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) standards and guidelines.
- EIT certification a plus (or in progress).
- Strong analytical, communication, and organizational skills.

Salary Range: Up to $115,000, based on experience.
