Freelance Senior Software Engineer (Kortrijk, Belgium)

Responsibilities:
- Translate user stories into practical, high-quality software implementations.
- Integrate cloud, data, and AI components into a cohesive, scalable solution.
- Use your expertise in Node.js, TypeScript, and microservices architecture to make technological choices that balance speed and quality.
- Deliver clean, maintainable code, ensuring thorough documentation and unit testing.
- Mentor and coach junior engineers, helping them grow and contribute effectively to the team.
- Collaborate in a SCRUM environment with a multinational team to ensure timely delivery.
- Contribute to cloud and backend development (AWS, databases, DevOps).
- Define integration approaches for third-party components and cloud backends (REST, IoT).
Requirements:
- 5+ years of experience in enterprise-grade software development.
- Strong experience with Typescript, Node.js, AWS, Docker Swarm (AWS Lambda experience a plus).
- Proven ability to integrate third-party components and build scalable, high-performance systems.
- Experience in coaching and mentoring junior engineers.
- Ability to work independently with a high degree of autonomy in a global team.
- Healthcare technology experience is a plus but not required.
- Fluent in English; Dutch is a bonus.
